Leadership Mid Valley is an eight-month program which seeks to both identify and motivate emerging leaders. It develops their potential for community leadership while exposing them to the realities, opportunities and problems of the community.

Leadership classes begin in October and then conclude in May. Participants meet once a month for tours, seminars and hands-on learning experiences organized by a steering committee of 15 alumni. Session topics include government, healthcare, education and media, as well as other important community issues. Leadership Mid-Valley brings together top-level business, civic, and government leaders for open conversation on the future of both Weslaco and surrounding areas. Every class receives a project and fundraiser that must be complete before the graduation date. In addition, every year the Leadership class and alumni take a trip to the state capitol. Here they have the opportunity to meet with various state officials, legislators and lobbyists.

The Business Visitor and Event Center is located at 275 S. Kansas in Weslaco.
