The Rio South Texas Economic Council now has an office in Berlin, Germany. The new location is part of an effort by RSTEC to attract European manufacturing companies to the Rio Grande Valley. With this location in the geographic, economic and political heart of Europe, the office will provide RSTEC members an opportunity to leverage a local European resource for their business recruitment efforts. It will also provide companies interested in investing in the region a multi-lingual contact in Europe.
“This is the first time an economic development organization from the Rio Grande Valley establishes a permanent presence in Europe,” says RSTEC Executive Director Matt Ruszczak. “RSTEC is excited to support its valued members in taking their economic development efforts across the globe.”
The RSTEC office is on Kurfuerstendamm, one of the most prominent commercial locations in all of Europe.
Essentially the German equivalent of 5th Avenue in New York City,” says Ruszczak. “It [the office] was established through RSTEC’s relationship with the Transatlantic Business & Investment Council, the premier origination connecting European companies with American communities. Both the address and the folks involved carry tremendous credibility, and therefore show potential investors how serious RSTEC Members are about attracting European Foreign Direct Investment to their community.”
RSTEC’s new European Office will be of use promptly. Ruszczak will soon depart on an FDI Recruitment Mission to Europe this week. The trip includes company visits in both Denmark and Germany. A stop is also in the plans to participate in the Hannover Messe. As the world’s largest tradeshow, it focuses on advanced manufacturing and industrial technology. It also features more than 5,000 exhibitors, thus attracting more than 200,000 attendees.
