In both roles, he spearheaded numerous contracts that cemented economic development initiatives, furthered public safety agreements, improved infrastructure projects and financing, guided emergency management outreach and promoted international compacts, as well as representing the City of McAllen in civil lawsuits, while protecting taxpayers.
Prior to working with the City of McAllen, Tawil worked in private practice.
Tawil earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Tawil is a member of Past-President of Temple Emanuel. He is married with two sons and one daughter.
