DHR Health to Host Free Sports Medicine Seminar

Sports MedicineDHR Health, together with the Valley Athletic Trainers Association, hosts the second annual Texas Emergency Sports Medicine Seminar July 26-27 for individuals who work with student athletes of all ages. Taking place at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, 118 Paseo Del Prado, the event provides information and training on the latest guidelines and advancements in the sports medicine field.

Several DHR Health physicians and special guest speakers from out of state will make presentations and offer attendees professional insights, hands-on training, and skills labs. The first day of the event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be dedicated specifically to school athletic trainers, nurses, physicians and emergency medical service personnel. The second day of the event, which takes place 8 a.m. to noon, will be open to youth sports coaches, youth league organizers, parents of student athletes and the general public. Each session will offer insightful presentations and hands-on skills labs. The session on July 27 will also offer CPR training and a rapid cooling lab.

The conference will be free to those who register, with a nominal fee charged for the CPR training that will be given on July 27.
