The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation recently announced major developments in the City of Edinburg’s North Industrial Park, particularly within RGV CDL – Lot 7B and Lot 9, highlighting growth and job creation in the region.
Shaping the Future of Commercial Truck Driving
Aldo Ivan Ortiz, owner of RGV CDL, has made a substantial investment in Edinburg’s North Industrial Park by purchasing three acres of land to develop a training facility for commercial truck drivers.
This facility has received approval as a CDL testing facility by the Texas Department of Public Safety. With the expectation the facility will open its doors in the second quarter of 2024, this project could make a lasting impact on the local job market. Projections are RGV CDL’s expansion will create 15 new jobs and a capital investment of $550,000 in Edinburg’s business community.
“At the North Industrial Park in Edinburg, RGV CDL has found a home in this 3,500-square-foot building. It’s not just a space,” states Ortiz. “It’s where we’re turning dreams into reality. Together, we’re creating a brighter future.”
Advancing Truck Services, Warehousing Solutions
Ortiz has also acquired 3.55 acres of land in the North Industrial Park for the creation of a state-of-the-art commercial truck service shop and three warehouses available for lease. The shop will span 4,500 square feet, while the warehouses will offer approximately 9,600 square feet of total space.
“With the sale of two of our North Industrial Park properties to RGV CDL, we are providing space for a new commercial driver’s license DPS-approved testing facility and truck maintenance shop,” said Raudel Garza, executive director of Edinburg Economic Development Corporation. “RGV CDL is working hard to make sure that our workforce is trained, skilled and readily available for high-demand occupations such as truck drivers.”
The commercial truck service shop should be operational by the end of the third quarter of 2024. Projections are it will generate 12 new jobs and an $800,000 capital investment.
