Operation Lone Star returns to San Juan in Hidalgo County beginning today, July 26. The annual week-long emergency preparedness exercise offers a variety of free medical services. This year’s event is at PSJA College High School at 805 West Ridge Road in San Juan. Among the services this year are COVID-19 vaccinations and school-required immunizations for children. Port Isabel Runs Early Special For Causeway Run

Port Isabel’s sixth annual Causeway Run and Fitness Walk is back Sept. 18 with an early-bird registration special. Runners and walkers alike can look forward to crossing the 2.6-mile Queen Isabella Causeway on foot. Early registration is $35 for the individual 10K run.
