The International Museum of Art & Science hosts its 45th annual Collage Gala on Sept. 14. The prestigious black-tie fundraiser event will honor Joe Brown, Jim Darling and Tim Smith for their contributions to the community.
“The Collage Gala is our signature event that raises annual operating funds to directly support our education and exhibit programs,” states IMAS Executive Director Ann Fortescue. “This event would not be possible or as successful without the incredible contributions and dedication of the Collage Committee Co-chairs, members, and title sponsor The Warren Group Inc.”
The gala will take place at IMAS from 6-11 p.m. and include live and silent auctions, dinner and drinks, and an after party in the art galleries. The event is officially sold out but a silent auction will be available online at theimasonline.org/collage/auction in early September and closes during the event.
Those still interested in attending can be added to a waitlist by contacting IMAS at aperez@theimasonline.com or 956-681-2815. Sponsorship inquiries are also welcome through the same contact information.
The Collage Gala is a vital fundraiser for IMAS, contributing 12 percent of the museum’s overall operating budget. The support from the community and sponsors significantly impacts the museum’s ability to serve visitors from McAllen, the greater Rio Grande Valley, as well as U.S. and international tourists.
Co-chairing the event this year are J. Edgar Ruiz II, Norma Flores-Ruiz, Carlos Melguizo and Saul Sanchez. The annual gala is organized by IMAS with support from a group of community volunteers in support of the museum. The Collage committee includes Lesley Chavez, Dr. Rutchie Contreras, Bronson delRio, Annette Garcia, Mariella Gorena, Dr. Katherine McAllen, Cassandra Moreno, David Perez, Tashiana Rodriguez, Bill Ruppert and Leigh Wooldridge.
