Rosemary Wells, the creator of the ever-popular Max & Ruby children’s show and books, will present at the McAllen Public Library on Jan. 10 to more than 600 school children from throughout the Rio Grande Valley.  Classes were selected based on teacher video submissions telling why their students should meet the author and illustrator.

Public event Jan. 11

The public may also attend a special event, “Read to Your Bunny,” with the author on  Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. This free program is for parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers. During the presentation, children will also attend a special reading program in the Children’s Storytime Room featuring Wells’ latest book. The public may then join in a celebration of the newly unveiled Rosemary Wells Art Exhibition. The display is a series of Wells’ original illustrations of Max’s Valentine, and a gift by the author to the McAllen Public Library. A light lunch reception will follow.
