Sunset Live Returns with Free MIJA Fest

Sunset LiveThe Sunset Live Outdoor Music Series is back for its 23rd season on April 12, bringing free live music, arts and outdoor fun to the McAllen Convention Center Oval Park. The Saturday kick off is also the inaugural McAllen International Jazz Alliance Festival, a free, all-day, family- and pet-friendly celebration featuring musicians from across the U.S. and Mexico.

The festival will feature two stages and an expanded schedule, running from 12:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The free event is filled with performances, an artisan market, food trucks and activities.

The full MIJA Fest Main Stage line-up features:

  • Luis McDougal: 1-2 p.m.
  • Rafa Collado: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
  • Clay Moore: 4–5 p.m.
  • Maria D’Luz: 5:30–6:30 p.m.
  • Roberto Verastegui Quartet: 7–8:15 p.m.
  • Benito González Trio: 9–10:30 p.m.

The Second Stage entertainment features:

  • Susy: 12:30–1 p.m.
  • Sonali: 2–2:30 p.m.
  • UTRGV Jazz Ensemble: 3:30–4 p.m.
  • Daphne: 5–5:30 p.m.
  • Ulysses De León Trio: 6:30–7 p.m.
  • Elena Díaz: 8:15–9 p.m.

Upcoming 2025 Sunset Live spring season dates includes May 9 at MXLAN and June 14 at Summer Fest.
