This summer, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is offering a special incentive to incoming graduate students, aimed at jumpstarting their academic journey toward an advanced degree.
The new Summer 2024 Grad Incentive will grant up to $2,000 toward the education of new students entering any academic program within the UTRGV Graduate College. This award, provided through grants or scholarships, is available on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds are exhausted.
To qualify for this incentive, students must:
- Be new master’s or doctoral students at UTRGV for the Summer 2024 semester.
- Enroll in at least six credit hours to receive $2,000, or three credit hours to receive $1,000.
Once enrolled and meeting these requirements, students will automatically receive the award, which cannot be combined with other scholarships or graduate assistantships, including the UTRGV Employee Tuition Assistance Program.
Stephanie Ozuna Larralde, director of Graduate Recruitment and Outreach at UTRGV, encourages prospective graduates to seize this opportunity to begin their graduate education with confidence.
“In today’s competitive job market, having master’s or doctoral degrees are increasingly essential for career advancement. The $2,000 summer incentive not only provides financial relief but also enhances students’ competitiveness in their chosen fields,” Ozuna Larralde said.
The deadline to enroll and receive this aid is the first day of class.
