Ring! Ring!

back to schoolAs school has started or will very soon, let’s ease off the accelerator and keep an eye out for our little ones. Hot summer temperatures of course are really kicking in, and so are the classroom doors for a new year of learning, growing and exploring.

Back-to-school sales, stuffing the backpacks and new sneakers are all part of daily lives this month. The roads are again congested, and the frequent braking are the most important stops of our day. These children are our precious blessings who are filled with anxiousness, rekindled butterflies and yes, also some serious disappointment their summer break is done.

The bright side is Texas football is back! For us sports junkies, the return to Friday Night Lights has finally arrived including the inaugural season of UTRGV football! The pageantry and sounds of screaming fans, halftime band performances and concession tasties have returned to the Rio Grande Valley. Let the games begin!
Our prep campuses, trade schools, colleges and universities are ready for a new semester/term of discovering, advancing toward a certification, associate degree or completion of a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. Here at VBR, we wish for you incredible successes, health and safety in your continued education. Students of all ages, this is your year to achieve even more greatness. The more you learn, the more you earn.

Educators, support staffs and administrators, you are rock stars! We appreciate your passion, perseverance and leadership, in and out of the classroom. The positive difference you make is changing the world. Thank you for your service to our Rio Grande Valley students.

Let’s take it easy on the roads, be patient and know our young people are tomorrow’s super stars. We are one. We are the Rio Grande Valley.

My thirty years in the media world has primarily focused on marketing, advertising and writing. This industry is my passion. I have been blessed to serve customers with marketing consulting, advertising concepts, video production and promotion of all forms - broadcast, print and digital. My occupation is a fun job but not work. The opportunity to put clients and customers together awakens me early. Learning clients and their businesses enables me to create effective multimedia advertising campaigns. My media life led me to deep South Texas in 2004 to co-found The Business Times of the Rio Grande Valley and then the Valley Business Report in 2009. This south Louisiana native is proud to call the Rio Grande Valley my home.
