The Edinburg Fire Department and the City of Edinburg invites the public to its annual Fire Stoppers Festival on Dec. 2. Families can enjoy a night of fun, food, kid's rides, entertainment and live music performances by Tejano Highway 281, Conjunto Cats, Spare Parts and Frankie Caballero Jr. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets while you enjoy the music at the new amphitheater. The Rio Grande City Annual Lighted Christmas Parade takes place Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. The Spectacular and Historical Christmas Parade makes it way down Main Street from Britton Avenue to the Fort Rinngold entrance.

The Mercedes Chamber of Commerce presents the annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Dec. 9 with the theme "A Sweet Christmas on Candy Cane Lane.” The parade begins at 7 p.m. on Sixth Street and will travel north on Texas Avenue into the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Grounds.
