Latina Leadership Conference Returns Sept. 4

Latina Leadership ConferenceThe Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce invites the community to its annual Latina Leadership Conference on Sept. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mission Event Center (200 N. Shary Road).

This year’s theme, “Sí Se Puede,” sets an empowering tone for a day focused on Latina leadership, cultural celebration and professional growth. The event will feature keynote speaker Janet Murguía, president and CEO of UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization. Murguía previously held senior roles in the Clinton administration and the Gore/Lieberman presidential campaign.

An event tradition, the Traditional Attire Contest invites women to wear Hispanic cultural dress and be judged by the organizing committee. Winners will receive a commemorative sash, a sombrero and a $100 gift card.

The conference will also feature interactive workshops, panel discussions and a marketplace of women- and minority-owned vendors. All attendees will receive a curated goody bag.

Tickets, vendor booths and sponsorship opportunities are available. Individual tickets are $125, with reserved tables for eight also available.
