Oil and Gas: How Important Is It In the RGV?

The oil and gas industry in Texas is leading the nation. But just how is this booming industry powering the Rio Grande Valley?

Statewide leaders, local representatives and industry advocates will answer this question and more at the Texas Oil and Gas Association Energy Summit Dec. 5 in Pharr. Speakers are set to address how important the industry in the region is to community success.

The luncheon and discussion will include Texas Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, Texas Senator Eddie Lucio Jr., Pharr Mayor Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez, and Port of Brownsville Director and CEO Eduardo Campirano. Other speakers include Director for Institutional Relations – Mexico at UT Austin Jorge Pinon, Enbridge Director of Business Development Kurt Knight-Turcan and TXOGA President Todd Staples.

The summit takes place at the Pharr Event Center, 3000 North Cage Blvd., from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Registration is $20 and includes lunch and a free gift.
