McAllen Seeks Feedback to Name New City Park

McAllen park surveyThe City of McAllen’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking public input to name a new 23-acre nature park located at 8701 N. 23rd Street. This addition to McAllen’s extensive park system will offer activities such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, walking trails, an archery range and a campsite. Other features include boating and fishing piers, a gazebo and a multi-purpose meadow.

“The ‘Name Our New Park’ survey represents a unique opportunity for our community to shape the identity of this exciting new addition to our city,” said City Manager Isaac J. Tawil. “We value our residents’ input and believe that their feedback will help us create a park that truly reflects the spirit and aspirations of our community. Your participation is crucial in making this vision a reality and we look forward to seeing the creative and meaningful names our residents will propose.”

Community input will help shape the park’s identity and spirit as a natural retreat for families, youth and civic groups. Residents are encouraged to submit name suggestions that reflect the park’s beauty and purpose for future generations.

The survey, available through the Zencity platform, will be open until Jan. 31.
