A virtual tour of the Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport is now live online at flybrownsville.com. The 360-degree virtual tour allows the user to navigate the airport and become familiar with each facet of the terminal.
Users can click on the image “Explore Our 3D 360° Tour” to tour the airport facility using a computer or cell phone. The function allows current and future travelers to explore the location of the airport’s many different amenities, such as bathrooms, nursing stations and the pet rest area, all located within the terminal.
Airport officials believe the 3D virtual tour is another step in Brownsville’s progress towards creating a user-friendly experience by preparing the customer for travel.
“The virtual tour is how technology intersects with convenience,” City Manager Helen Ramirez stated. “For residents and visitors who haven’t experienced the new Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport yet, the 3D tour can help them become familiar with the terminal before their flights. The tour can guide them through the airline ticket area, to seating, show them where to enter the TSA security checkpoint and take them to their gates.”
The tour was created by Ocean 3D, an award-winning company recognized as one of the foremost companies in the world that produces 365-degree virtual tours.
“We continually strive to make the airport safer and more convenient for our passengers,” said Jose Ruiz, deputy director of Development and Security for BRO. “The 3D tour is an especially good option for the disabled who can now easily identify the locations of elevators and bathrooms and other services. And in the gate area, it allows them to familiarize themselves beforehand and navigate the airport confidently.”
