Before assuming her new role as director of the newly created International Relations department for the City of McAllen, Daniella Plata served as the international business manager for the McAllen International Airport, where she was recognized by Airport Business Magazine as a Top 40 Under 40. Plata was chosen from among hundreds of nominations from across North America, with four other winners from Texas and throughout the United States and Canada.
“Daniella’s selection for this prestigious award by an aviation industry leading publication comes as no surprise to those of us who have worked with her and see what she accomplished to help the McAllen International Airport growth and connectivity to Mexico grow by leaps and bounds,” said McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez.
Plata’s Accomplishments
As the International Business Manager at MFE, Plata blended her passion for aviation with a commitment to fostering international relationships and driving sustainable growth. Her work laid a foundation for sustainable growth in the Mexico air service market.
Plata also organized and executed numerous international government relations events. Those events strengthened ties with Mexican states such as Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, and cities like Reynosa, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. Collaborating with both public and private entities, she played a pivotal role in creating a network that supported the airport’s international endeavors.
One standout accomplishment was her management of MFE’s international business strategy and relations. This role involved collaborating with governments, tourism departments, economic development offices and airports in Mexican states and cities. By fostering these partnerships, she contributed significantly to air service planning and broader business and intergovernmental collaborations.
