Ann Fortescue, president and executive director of the International Museum of Art & Science, has been elected to the Texas Association of Museums as a Councilor-at-Large for a two-year term beginning March 2021. She joins 15 museum leaders from across the state as the governing body for TAM. Representing more than 600 TAM members, the association advances the work of museums in serving communities and professional excellence of museum staff.

Fortescue joined the IMAS in July 2019 after eight years as executive director of the Springfield Museum of Art in Ohio. She also possesses more than 20 years of experience in positions at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, Penn. She brings a range of service to the field. This includes being an American Alliance of Museums Accreditation Commissioner and a Museum Assessment Program peer reviewer since 2005.

Fortescue possesses a B.A. in history from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She also has an M.S. in museum education from Bank Street College of Education in New York, NY. Furthermore, she has completed the Museum Leadership Institute at the Getty Institute in Los Angeles, Cali.
