Mission Attracts New Sports Complex

A fast-growing sport is expanding in the Rio Grande Valley with plans to construct a 21,500-square-foot venue for padel ball and pickleball players. The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce hosts the Mission Citrus Golf Classic May 7. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., tee-off follows at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $500 for teams of three. Fee includes course fees, golf cart, gift bags, breakfast and lunch. The City of Mission plans to honor its food and restaurant entrepreneurs at its first Foodpreneur.

The City of Mission is celebrating its entrepreneurs in the food industry with its first-ever Foodpreneur Fest on Oct. 24. It plans to use the event as a fundraiser for the city’s food pantry.
