The Rio-South Texas Education and Community Development Foundation recently announced it will establish a $5-million endowment on behalf of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently approved the degree proposal for a doctorate in human genetics for the UTRGV School of Medicine.
