Intercollegiate college athletics is making a comeback in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, as Texas Southmost College rejoins the National Junior College Athletics Association. Families facing financial hardships can now access required construction trade skills training for employment at Texas Southmost College. Funding for the training comes from the Texas Workforce Commission via a $351,794 Self Sufficiency Fund Grant.
