Rotary Club Hosts McAllen ISD Candidate Forum

School Board Candidate ForumThe McAllen Rotary Club will hosts a School Board Candidate Forum for the McAllen Independent School District Place 5 candidates on March 15.

From noon to 1:30 p.m., the forum will provide an opportunity for the community to hear from the candidates who are vying for the Place 5 seat on the McAllen ISD School Board. The two candidates participating in the forum at the Salvation Army Banquet Hall are Rojelio Aleman II and Aaron Daniel Rivera.

The Salvation Army Banquet Hall is located at 1600 N. 23rd Street in McAllen.

“We are excited to host this important event and provide a platform for our community to learn more about the candidates who are running for the McAllen ISD School Board,” said Jon Valdivia, the president of the McAllen Rotary Club.

The event will consist of opening statements from each candidate, questions from the moderators and closing statements from each candidate. The questions will focus on issues facing the McAllen ISD, such as student achievement, teacher retention and budget concerns.

This event is free and open to the public. All McAllen residents may attend and participate. Light refreshments and food will be served.
