The Sticks & Bones Trail at Quinta Mazatlán is now open through Nov. 14, letting patrons of all ages experience the “not-so-spooky side” of skeletons.

The outdoor educational exhibit through the woods features educational signage, fun outdoor exhibits and a scavenger hunt sheet. Quinta Mazatlán says families should “dress for the season and laugh outdoors” as they take to the trail and receive a small gift bag upon completing the hunt.

The Sticks & Bones Trail begins with health tips on ways to strengthen bones. Upon entering the Thornforest, participants may meet Invertebrates and have a photo opportunity with Spiderman. Further down the trail are five vertebrate families featuring the reptiles, amphibians, mammals, fish and birds. Guest skeletons include Willie Nelson, Jack Skellington, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, Waldo, Batman and more.

While on the trail, patrons can also experience an outdoor art exhibit. Pieces include a larger-than-life calavera sculpture by artist Rene Lopez, “She’s Smiling,” and the “Butterfly Lady” by artist Cele Castillo.

Park hours at Quinta Mazatlán are Tuesday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday nights until 7:30 p.m.
