Texas Southmost College will extend remote learning using various online technologies and alternate operations through the fall 2020 semester. The announcement comes at an unanimous agreement by the college’s board of trustees.
“With a robust on-campus student population and hundreds of employees each fall, we strongly believe it is in the community’s best interest to take this measure to help slow the spread of the coronavirus,” said TSC Board Chair Adela G. Garza. “Our students, faculty, and staff have done a magnificent job of transitioning to remote learning since spring break. We are confident in our students’ ability to maintain momentum towards their academic goals with support from a very dedicated campus community.”
At the same time, the board of trustees ensures employees will not be furloughed or laid off during this time.
TSC experienced record-breaking enrollments this summer. Fall registration is currently underway. The fall semester begins Aug. 24.
