The Event and Arena Marketing Conference’s announcement of its finalists for this year’s awards ceremony includes the City of McAllen. The EAMC recognizes the most innovative and impactful work in the live entertainment industry. Of the top five categories, McAllen is one of three finalists for EAMC Marketing Campaign of the Year. The nomination is a result of successful marketing efforts for last year’s introduction of Fiesta De Palmas.
To prepare for Fiesta De Palmas and re-branding from PalmFest, McAllen City planners launched extensive social media outreach, TV, radio and print campaigns. The festival drew a record attendance of 45,000 visitors over the two-day event. There was also a creation of a $2.3-million economic impact for the City of McAllen last year.
Voters select the winners via social media. Voting for the Fiesta De Palmas Rebranding Campaign is also online. The City of McAllen entry category is number two on the ballot. All voters must vote for the other five categories on the ballot for the vote to count. Only one entry per email address is allowed with voting open until May 3.
The EAMC conference, held each year across the U.S. and Canada, hosts hundreds of industry leaders. The event focuses on sharing talent, expertise and insight with fellow brand marketers. An announcement of the winners comes during the awards ceremony at the EAMC Awards conference June 13 in Toronto.
