The City of McAllen will be updating the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan and would like community input as to how to develop McAllen’s parks and recreation areas. The original Parks & Recreation Master Plan was created in 2018 and since, the City of McAllen has accomplished many of the the goals outlined in that document. The city says it is now time to move forward with the community’s help for the next five years.

All citizens, regardless of age, are now able to share their ideas and suggestions about current or new parks and programming. An online survey is available for residents to give their feedback about McAllen parks and program. These answers will help guide the City of McAllen in future park acquisitions and development. The survey will be active through June 28.

The McAllen Parks & Recreation Department will also be hosting a series of town hall meetings throughout McAllen to hear from residents about what they would like to see in the future at McAllen parks.
