South Texas College, Hidalgo Independent School District and Texas Workforce Commission united for a check presentation benefiting student workforce training for careers in manufacturing and healthcare March 28. South Texas College and the Starr County Industrial Foundation are the recipients of $100,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Economic Development Administration’s Technical Assistance Program. The award will develop a Starr County Strategic Plan focusing on workforce and economic development by the year 2025.
