Pharr Hosts Drive-Thru First Responders Festival

The City of Pharr held its annually Pharr First Responders Festival last weekend. Originally planned as a traditional festival, this year’s event became a drive-thru. The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and its ambassadors chose H-E-B on W. Freddy Gonzalez Drive for its Chamber Raid for the month of August. The benefactor of the raid was the United Way with contributions going to its school supply drive. The ambassadors bought in close to $200 in school supplies. Chamber Raids allow ambassadors, board members and volunteers from the Edinburg Chamber to “raid” a local business to make purchases.…

“Fill the Bus” Accepting Donations Today

The eighth annual “Fill the Bus” is going on today, Aug. 8, at the Shary H-E-B until 6:30 p.m. The one-day event accepts donations of school supplies and backpacks, with those making donations of a value of $25 receiving a free Schlitterbahn ticket.
